Second Wind Turbine Under Construction to Support Growing Energy Needs

We are excited to announce that construction is now underway on our second wind turbine. This significant development marks another step forward in our commitment to sustainability and renewable energy.

Our site, home to both Country Crest and Ballymaguire Foods, has grown considerably and now supports a team of approximately 500 employees. With this growth has come an increase in energy demand.

Our first wind turbine, installed in March 2009, initially provided around 85% of our site’s electricity needs. However, as our operations have expanded, that contribution now accounts for approximately 35% of our total energy consumption.

To meet current demand—and to prepare for a sustainable future—the second turbine is essential. It forms a core part of our strategy to become net-zero carbon, with the ambition of being fully self-sufficient in energy by 2030. Beyond meeting our own needs, we also plan to export renewable power to the local grid, providing clean energy to homes and businesses in the surrounding area.
