Potatoes
Country Crest is a major supplier of potatoes to multiples in Ireland. With specialist expertise in growing, washing, grading and packing potatoes, we work closely with our growers to supply Irish maincrop potatoes all year round.
Our modern refrigerated storage facilities ensure deliveries of highest quality potatoes to our customers. Country Crests agronomist monitors the quality of the potatoes throughout the growing season and potatoes are harvested when they have achieved satisfactory maturity and dry matter levels, the measure for “taste quality” of potatoes.
Country Crest began packing baby potatoes in 1999 importing all salads varieties from France, UK, Israel and Portugal. In 2003, Country Crest began our Irish Baby potato project in Wexford, growing 5 acres of salad varieties. Within three years, Country Crest together with our grower can achieve three months supply of baby potatoes - 25% of Country Crests requirement.
Organic potatoes are also packed in Country Crest to high standards imposed by Irish Organic Farmers and Growers Association (IOFGA).
