Beef Goulash

• 400g diced stewing beef
• 35g oil
• 100g chopped onion
• 25g flour
• 20g paprika
• 40g tomato puree
• 750ml beef stock or water
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 8 small peeled and washed potatoes
Heat oil in a saucepan. Add the beef and fry for a few minutes until brown.
Add the chopped onions. Cover with lid and sweat for 3-4 mins until the
onions have softened.
Add the fl our and paprika and cook for 3–4 mins.
Add in the tomato puree and gradually add the water or stock, stir to the
boil, season and cover.
Allow to simmer for approx 11/2 hours till meat is tender.
Add the potatoes. Recover with lid and cook gently till potatoes are cooked.
OR
Leave out potatoes and serve with Country Crest mash potatoes.
